The person behind the programme

About The Instructor

I spent years working with professionals who were far more capable than their English let them appear.

In meetings, they'd go quiet when it was their turn to speak. In emails, they'd hedge when they needed to be direct. In negotiations, they'd lose ground they should have held not because their ideas were weak, but because the language wasn't quite doing what they needed it to do.

That's the gap I set out to close.

I'm a Learning & Development and English language specialist with a background in instructional design, intercultural communication, and corporate language training. I've worked across industries and cultures, designing programmes that help professionals grow through real practice and not through grammar drills, memorisation, or exercises that bear no resemblance to what they actually do at work.

Orion Global English came out of that experience. It's a programme built around a realistic business scenario, because that's where language learning actually sticks; when you're using it to do something that feels real, not reciting phrases into the void.

How I think about learning

Most business English courses teach language. This one teaches communication with English language as the medium.

There's a difference. Language is vocabulary, grammar, and phrase lists. Communication is knowing how to frame a difficult message, how to disagree without derailing a relationship, and how to sound like yourself just in English.

Every module in this programme is built around a situation you'll actually encounter at work. You write a proposal, you chair a meeting, you handle pushback from a stakeholder, you negotiate an outcome. The language develops through the doing and because it's always in context, it transfers to your real work far more readily than anything learned in isolation.

Even in the self-paced version, the structure is deliberate. You're not clicking through slides and ticking boxes. Each step connects to the next, and each lesson leaves you with something you can use the following morning.

Orion is one of the most recognisable constellations in the night sky. For centuries, it's been used to navigate as a fixed point of reference when everything else looks uncertain.

That's the idea behind this programme.

When you're working in English and the stakes are high, a presentation to senior leadership, a negotiation with an international partner, a difficult conversation with a stakeholder, it helps to have a clear framework to come back to. Something that orients you.

Project Orion is built to be that framework. Each module is a step forward. Each skill builds on the last. And by the end, you're not just better at English but you know how to navigate the situations where it matters most.
